Wilma Slack

Wilma Lois (Reedy) Slack, 83, of Oswego, Ill., passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Autumn Leaves Memory Care.
She was born April 22, 1936, in Troy to Amon and Lillie B. (Roberts–Mitchell) Reedy. On Sept. 16, 1956, she married Harry Eugene Slack, of Ziegler, Ill., where they began their family together.
In 1964, they moved their family to Newark, Ill, where they spent the rest of their time together. Wilma then relocated to Yorkville, Ill., in 1981, where she worked for True Value Hardware until her retirement in 1997. She then moved to Davenport, Fla., for the next 16 years, enjoying the warm weather, Disney and making new friends.
In 2014, Wilma moved in with her daughter and family in Oswego, where she remained until she succumbed to her battle with dementia in 2018, and became a resident at Autumn Leaves.
Wilma enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She enjoyed her years in Florida, and driving back and forth to Illinois every spring and summer to stay with her daughter and visit family.
Wilma is survived by her sons, Gregory (Becky) Slack of Montgomery, Ill., and Stewart (Karen) Slack of Newark, Ill.; her daughter, Judy K. (Shawn) Johnson of Oswego; her grandchildren, Ben (Nichole) Slack, Abigail (Chris) Schramm, Matthew (Shawna) Slack, Nicholas (Hannah) Slack, Angela Slack, Christina (Paul) Bihun and Adam (A.J.) Johnson;  nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Parker, Giuliana, Braxton, Dylan, Wyatt, Eloise and Jackson; sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Slack and Donna (Jim) Slack-McNeely; and nephews and niece, Steve (Karla) Reedy, Lynne (Brad) Bevis and Dustin (Aaron) McNeely, as well as many cousins, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Rachel; brother-in-law, John Dale Slack; and great-granddaughter, Giada Marie Bihun.
Services will be held at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, located at 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, Ill., at 5 p.m. Monday. Pastor Steve Larson will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Oct. 14 at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Adam (A.J.) Johnson, Ben Slack, Matthew Slack, Nicholas Slack, Paul Bihun and Chris Schramm.
Graveside services and burial will be held 10 a.m. Oct. 16 at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
