TAKING THEIR LAP — Cancer survivors from Obion County walked a special lap past luminaries during Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope’s 19th annual event Saturday. This year’s festivities were moved to the Obion County Fairgrounds after meteorologists forecast three to five inches of rain in the county. Teams came into the event having already raised $119,644 and added to their total as the sky stayed clear. At the end of the evening, they were able to break the $3 million mark for the event’s history, having raised $159,165.42. Even more funds to help cancer patients here is expected to come in by the end of the month, which is the official end for the fundraising effort. Donations may still be made by sending a check to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City TN 38281.
