SUMMER READING — Seven-year-old Charlie Belle Cruce helped Magic Mr. Nick with a disappearing trick Monday during the Obion County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “A Universe of Stories.” Magic Mr. Nick was the opening act for the month-long event which encourages and rewards children as old as 12 for reading while they are out of school for the summer. The next program will be Backyard Bash at 10 a.m. on Monday. Other scheduled events this week include the movie “Zathura” at 2 p.m. today and Galaxy Shoes Friday from 3-4:30 p.m. Galaxy Shoes is for all ages. There is no supply fee required; however, attendees are responsible for bringing a pair of white shoes. Children younger than age 5 must have an adult present to assist.
