Joseph Matthew Benthal, 39, of Union City died Friday, May 10, 2019, at his residence.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Southerland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1979, in Union City, to Larry Basham and the late Berthie (Parker) Basham.
He worked as a cashier for Cox Oil Company. He was also a U.S. Army veteran, serving several tours in Iraq and Kuwait.
He married Amy Baker. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Taylor Chevalier of Union City; a son, Lucas Benthal of Union City; a grandson, Brian Chevalier of Union City; three brothers, Terry Basham of Troy, Darrell Benthal of Dyersburg and Stephen Benthal of Dyersburg; two sisters and their spouses, Pamela (Ronnie) Jones of Hornbeak and Angela (David) Higgins of Hornbeak; and several nieces and nephews.
