Elmer Brown Bridges, 88, of Sharon died Saturday morning, May 11, 2019, at the West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Price officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Justin Wall Smith, Sean Hogan, James West and Glenn Noah.
He was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Union City, son of the late R.E. and Myrtle (Chapel) Bridges. He was a retired farmer and also worked at the airport.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, Angela Jobe of Greenfield and Laura Burton of Dresden; three stepgrandchildren, Justin Wall Smith, Cody Hogan and Sean Hogan; a brother, Alfred Bridges; a niece, Betty Stehl; a nephew, Bob Noah; a cousin, Frances Goodman of Union City; and six great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his life partner, Marian June Falwell; and a sister Lottie Laird.
