Edith Carpenter, 95, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Franciscan Health in Crown Point, Ind.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Rees Funeral Home in Hobart. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of donor’s choice in Edith’s memory.
She was born Feb. 6, 1924, to the late Fred and Inis (née Albright) Parrish in Obion. On Jan. 10, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late Frederick B. Carpenter in Union City.
She was a longtime member of Hobart United Methodist Church, where she retired from as a faithful custodian. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Liz (Dave) Veit; son, Roger Sr. (Judy) Carpenter; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred B. Carpenter; son, Sgt. Fred Warren Carpenter, Jr.; her parents; and two brothers, James and Calvin Parrish.
