‘APP’LYING KNOWLEDGE

‘APP’LYING KNOWLEDGE — Four students at Ridgemont Elementary School have used the coding skills they’ve learned in their gifted/RTI computer class to write study apps to help other students prepare for year-end TNReady tests. Eighth-grader Nicholas Inciong (seated left), who wrote a complex Jeopardy game-style study guide app, recently explained the coding for his app to seventh-grader Stormy Thorpe (seated right), sixth-grader Jadon Emery (standing center), seventh-grader Kaden Gallimore and teacher Shane Upchurch (back). The three older students all wrote study apps for the seventh- and eighth-grade English/language arts test, while Jadon wrote one for sixth-grade social studies.
