Mr. Freeman Long, 93, of Troy died Feb. 9, 2019, at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home, with the Rev. William George officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery.
Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Harris.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Mr. Long was born June 6, 1926, in Obion County, son of the late Ezra and Dollie (Fulcher) Long. He married Vallie B. Armstrong Feb. 3, 1948, and she passed away Oct. 12, 2018. Mr. Long was a retired farmer and mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Obion and of the American Legion.
Mr. Long is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Alexander of Old Hickory, Peggy (Gary) Lewis of Troy and Sheila Patey of Bartlett; three sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. (Debbie) Long and Terry Wayne (Vicky) Long, all of Union City, and Timothy (Betsy) Long of Obion; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Stevenson of Martin, Clara Simon of Dorr, Mich., and Jean McGee of Gainsville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Patey; a great-grandson, Hunter Scott Lewis; and a sister, Pearlie Brandon.
