Dairus Carr

Mr. Dairus Carr, 92, of the Cayce community passed away on Feb. 7, 2019.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Cayce Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday.
He was born on March 3, 1926, in Obion County to the late Buford and Ambret Thomas Carr.
Mr. Carr was a member of Cayce Baptist Church and the adult men’s Sunday School Class, where he served as a deacon. He had worked for 39 years in the shipping department for the former Reelfoot Packing Company in Union City. He had lived in the Cayce community most of his life.
The family requests memorials be made to Cayce Baptist Church, Box 40, Holly Circle, Fulton, KY 42041 or to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mozell Hammond Carr of the Cayce community; a brother, Jake Carr of Union City; three sisters, Nona Ruth Ward, Floella Caldwell and Mignon Guess, all of Union City; eight nephews; a niece; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jess Carr.
