EAGLE FESTIVAL — Thousands of people from around the area and across the state and nation converged on Reelfoot Lake State Park’s Visitors Center this weekend for the 15th annual Reelfoot Lake Eagle Festival. In addition to seeing wildlife in its natural habitat, Saturday’s visitors were treated to a show by Native American John Lone Eagle, who is half Cherokee and half Apache Indian, performed contemporary American Indian music and traditional dance with the help of percussionist Bobbi Childress. Also on hand Saturday were John and Dale Stokes, who presented their live birds of prey program. Reelfoot Lake State Park hosted eagle tours and a sunrise photography tour during the festival, which was hosted by Reelfoot Lake Tourism Council and Reelfoot Lake State Park. The event will be the focus of Wednesday’s Friends and Neighbors.
