Jim Max Petty, 84, of the McConnell community, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church and the owner and operator of Joker Joe’s Fireworks.
He is survived by his wife, Martha McQuen Petty, of Martin; two daughters, Carrie (Chris) Turnage of Mayfield, Ky., and Susanne (Tony) Smith of Dresden; two stepdaughters, Natalie (Richard) Voss of Gates and Jennifer Henry of Ripley; five grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Clark of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Hiveley Petty; a daughter, Sheryl Laster; and his parents, Raymond and Lilly Collins Petty.
