First Baby of 2019 Welcomed at WTH Volunteer

The start of 2019 marks a happy new year indeed for the Spraggs family of Union City as they welcome the newest member of their family and the first baby born this year at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Martin.

Micaela and Chris Spraggs rang in the new year at home in Union City. Maryelise Claire made her entrance at the hospital on Jan. 2 at 12:31 a.m. after six and half hours of labor. She weighs 6 pounds and 1 ounce and is 18.5 inches.

She is the third child to the couple, joining Levi, 8, and Emmy, 5. She is named after her maternal great-grandmother Mary Helen Baiz of Union City.

Micaela is an RN at Lifeline Home Health in Fulton and Chris works in the physical plant at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Micaela says they are excited and that meeting Maryelise is a “wonderful way to start the new year.”
