LIGHT CHECK — Tim Sims of Union City double-checked the strand of lights on the gingerbread house on the Lowe’s float prior to the Union City Christmas parade Thursday evening. The near hour-long parade included 75 entries, with 150 individual pieces. Jaycee Ron Parks, who helps organize the event each year, said, “I think it is one of the best parades we’ve ever had.” Parades in the county continue tonight in Obion, with lineup at 6 and the parade starting at 7. Troy’s parade, which had been slated for Saturday, has been postponed until Tuesday due to the expected inclement weather.
