‘BLUE’ CHRISTMAS — Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson (left) and Union City Police Chief Perry Barfield picked up a few of the canned goods and non-perishable food items which have already been donated for this year’s “Blue Lights and Banks,” an event to benefit Chimes for Charity. “Blue Lights and Banks” will be held Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Obion County Courthouse in downtown Union City. During that time, residents are asked to bring toys, canned goods or cash donations to pack into patrol cars at the collection site, where representatives from the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, Union City Police Department and local banks will be on hand to accept them. The donations will help less fortunate families across Obion County this Christmas through Chimes. All local banks are supporting the drive and will also accept donations.
