TRICK OR TREAT — Things got very scary in downtown Union City Tuesday afternoon when hoards of little ghosts and goblins flocked to the community trick-or-treat event presented by Main Street-Union City. With a line of trick-or-treaters as far as the eye could see, several Main Street business owners passed out candy Tuesday afternoon. Marty Quinton (left), owner of Peddler’s Mart, went all in for the event by dressing like an Egyptian pharaoh to hand out candy to Stellyn Griffith (front) and Star Griffith (back), the daughters of Tabitha and Joe Joe Griffith of Union City. The event was originally scheduled for today but with a dismal forecast of inclement weather all day today, most towns moved their Halloween events to Tuesday. The towns of Troy, Hornbeak, Kenton and Obion chose to defy Mother Nature and celebrate the spooky holiday tonight.
