Joseph Venice Sr.

Joseph John Venice Sr., 83, of South Fulton passed away Aug. 29, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with entombment to follow in the Murray (Ky.) Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
He was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and had worked for Murray State University in the maintenance department. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the Korean War.
Venice is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Venice of South Fulton; a son Joseph John Venice Jr. (Brook) of Mayfield, Ky.; his stepchildren, Kenny Mayo (Brandi) South Fulton, Holly Bloodworth (David) of Murray and Richard Allen Sharp (Marilyn) and Vickie Workman (Steve), all of Indiana; two grandchildren, John Clifton Venice and Luka Neal Venice, both of Mayfield; his step-grandchildren, Brandon Mayo, Mallory Bell, Destinee Mayo, Colton Mayo and Kailey Mayo, all of South Fulton, Brittney Hayes of Union City, Alex Rogers of Nashville, Chris Sharp, Tina Sharp, Jeff Sharp, Jeremy Workman, Stephanie Ensley, Ronnie Sharp Jr., Amanda Blackmon and Misty Crockett, all of Indiana, and Chad Sharp of Kentucky; and his step-great-grandchildren, McKenzie Mayo, Caleb Stout and Gabriel Mayo, all of South Fulton, and Drake Hayes of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Venice; his parents, Fern and Samuel Venice; a step-son, Ronnie Sharp; two brothers, Benny and Samuel; and four sisters June, Grace, Deloris and Josephine.
