Donald Jackson

Donald “Rooster” Jack-son, 65, of Union City died Aug. 27, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin at 5 -7 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Rawls Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1953, in Fulton to Ralph Jackson and the late Dorothy Rose Jackson.
He graduated from South Fulton High School in 1971. He enlisted into the National Guard and then later into the United States Army. He is a retired carpenter. Donald was a “jack of all trades.” He is well known across the West Tennessee area, mostly by his saying, “SHO-NUFF.”
Donald was united in holy matrimony to Sherie Humphrey on Sept. 5, 1975.
He was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years where he sang in the choir and faithfully served as an usher.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife, Sherie Humphrey Jackson; one son, Sean Jackson (Chanell) of Union City; two daughters, Lorraine Lightner of Denver and Donna Jackson of Union City; and six grandchildren, Jaylen, Malachi, Aubrey, Alexia, Jaxson and Derek “Bubba.” He also leaves his father, Ralph Jackson (Margaret) of Alton, Ill.; one sister, Deborah Jackson of Fulton; and one brother, James Jackson of Mayfield, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Rose Jackson; and two brothers, Ralph Jackson Jr. and Daniel Jackson.
