Michael Jeffress

It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Michael Jeffress of Fulton announces his passing on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at the age of 76 years.
He was born and raised on a farm in Fulton County, Ky., and lived there for much of his life. A 1960 graduate of South Fulton High School, he worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 32 years.
He served in the United States Army in the HHB 25th Infantry Division, and received commendations for his service, including a Vietnam Campaign Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal and two Overseas Service Bars. He was also a lifelong farmer, working in crops and with his cattle. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Ruth, and their son, David Michael (Jessica) of Murray, Ky.
He also leaves behind two beautiful grandchildren, Sagan Ruth and Nolan Michael, who adore their Papaw. He is also survived by his brother, Billy (Rita) Jeffress of Garland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for the mischievous twinkle in his eyes, his kind and humble heart and his soft-spoken but witty sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Roper and Jessie Stallins Jeffress; and by his brother, James Albert Jeffress.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8-11 a.m. prior to the funeral Friday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlea Cemetery.
