Mrs. Lorene Thomas, 93, of Union City died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Union City Manor and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorials Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Obion County, daughter of the late William Noah and Delia McClard Reid. She married the Rev. Fred Thomas on July 12, 1942. He died April 26, 2017.
She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and worked faithfully and diligently along side her husband in the ministry for over 52 years.
The family requests memorials to be sent to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mrs. Thomas leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Art Bond of Union City; a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Sandra Thomas of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Scot and Karen Thomas, Greg and Ginger Thomas, Brian and Lisa Bond and Dana and Fritz Fussell; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and five sisters-in-law, Wilmenia Rushing, Jane Palmer, Ailene O’Brien, Louise Reid and Betty Palmer.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Reid and Noah Lee Reid; and two sisters, Mildred Pinion and Annie Laura Cresswell.
