QUITTIN’ TIME — Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire (not pictured) has declared this week as Tennessee Quit Week in Obion County. This week is part of the annual statewide anti-tobacco movement called It’s Quittin’ Time in Tennessee. To honor this week, the Obion County Health Department and Obion County Prevention Coalition are hosting a Quit Fest at the Union City Housing Authority community center on Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. There will be food, games, giveaways and information on free tobacco cessation classes. Free quit kits are also available at the health department for anyone who would like to quit smoking. Getting ready for Friday’s event recently were (from left) Obion County Health Department public health educator Catherine Sedergren, Union City Housing Authority administrative assistant Crystal Ware and Obion County Prevention Coalition director Carla Aaron. All community members are welcome to attend the Quit Fest.
