OUT AND ABOUT

OUT AND ABOUT — City postal carrier Joe Joe Griffith of Walnut Log used de-icer as he cleared ice from his delivery truck’s windshield just after daybreak early today before heading out on his delivery route from the Union City Post Office. Freezing rain and sleet began falling overnight in Obion County, and it changed over to snow about 8:30 a.m. today. Streets were ice-packed and traffic was sparse this morning. All local schools were closed, giving students a four-day weekend heading into Monday’s observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
