WINTER’S ARTWORK — Messenger outdoor columnist Brent Callicott visited Reelfoot Lake Wednesday and photographed what happens when brisk winds and waves combine with bitterly cold temperatures — the creation of winter ice sculptures in the cypress trees. While the weather is too cold for most humans — other than hunters — Callicott said he saw a pair of mature bald eagles during his visit to Kiwanis Park on Highway 21. While temperatures are expected to climb into the 30s for the next couple of days, bitter cold weather remains in the forecast with some nighttime lows reaching single digits. There is a 20 percent chance of snow predicted for Sunday.
