I THINK I ‘CAN’ — Five-year-old Maitland Riedesel of South Fulton worked Thursday afternoon to stack cans of beans as he helped sort donated non-perishable food items at the Obion County School System bus garage in Troy ahead of today’s packing and Saturday’s delivery of Chimes for Charity food baskets to local families in need. Meanwhile, his little brother, 2-year-old Hardy (left), kept himself entertained watching videos. The family made the sorting activity a family affair. The boys were joined by their parents, Kalum and Jessica Riedesel; their older brother, Kalum, 7; and their baby sister, 5-month-old Emerence. The children’s father serves in the U.S. Coast Guard and is stationed at Hickman, Ky. Chimes for Charity, sponsored by the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes and supported by community contributions, plans to deliver 250 food baskets to less fortunate families, couples and individuals starting early Saturday.
