EARLY-MORNING CRASH

EARLY-MORNING CRASH — Union City Fire Department Capt. Karl Ullrich (left) stood by in a cold misty rain this morning as Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Anthony Jackson gathered information at the scene of a tractor-trailer rig crash on Highway 22 at the Ken-Tenn Highway exit near the city limits of Union City. The accident occurred about 7:15 a.m. when the driver of the farm truck lost control in the curve and rolled, coming to rest upright in the median between the exit ramps. Emergency personnel at the scene said the driver was able to get out of the crumpled cab on his own, and Jackson said the driver was disoriented and was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for examination. The truck, hauling a load of corn, is owned by Waterfield Brothers Farms of Sharon.
