JUST A SPRINKLE — Two-year-old Reed Bartz of Samburg got help from his mother, Shannon Bartz, while decorating a sugar cookie with icing and sprinkles during Saturday evening’s Christmas in Samburg event at City Hall. He is also the son of Brian Bartz. Those in attendance were treated to hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies, while the children also got to see Santa and receive a special gift. Mrs. Bartz, who is a city alderman, and city recorder Sheena Albritton planned the event. Prior to the party at City Hall, the Samburg Tourism Committee held its first Christmas tree lighting event at Spicer Park, with Blood Washed Quartet leading Christmas carols. Mayor John Glessner said while Samburg did not have a Christmas parade this year, one is already being planned for 2018.
