HEAVY RESCUE — Obion County Rescue Squad members (from left) Teddy Willcutt, Woody Pugh, Ricky Staggs (mostly hidden) and Samantha Quast learned how to stabilize a grain bed Saturday during heavy truck rescue training at the Obion County fairgrounds. Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads state training coordinator Brian Robinson worked with six instructors to teach 40 students how to stabilize bigger vehicles and what to do when they are involved in accidents with passenger vehicles. They also worked on extrications from those vehicles. Students also came from the cities of Greeneville, Morristown, Newport, Selmer, Ethridge and Henderson and the counties of Hardeman, Cannon, Carroll, Benton, Hardin and Trousdale. Robinson said they try to do three training sessions each year — one in West, Middle and East Tennessee.
