GIRL TALK — Eight-year-old Ainsley Beard, daughter of Bentley and Celene Beard of Union City, asked a young shopper her preferences as she helped alongside some adults who were shopping for children in need during Sunday afternoon’s annual Chimes for Charity children’s shopping tour at Walmart Supercenter in Union City. A total of 172 less fortunate children from throughout Obion County were each treated to $125 worth of new winter clothing at this year’s event, which drew a huge number of volunteers to assist the kids. Chimes, supported by contributions from the community, is in its 83rd year of providing food, clothing and toys to families and individuals in need at Christmas.
