CHIMES OPEN — Chimes for Charity secretary Stacy Hogan of Union City juggled the phone as she took a food basket applicant’s information while manning the phone at the Chimes office Tuesday afternoon. The Chimes office opened Monday and will be open 4-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, until Nov. 17, to accept applications for food baskets to be delivered to less fortunate families and individuals around Obion County on Dec. 23. To apply for a basket, call the Chimes office at 599-4542. The office is located inside the Shelter Insurance office at 111 West Reelfoot Ave. in Union City and is open afternoon hours this year, rather than mornings. Anyone who calls before or after hours will be able to leave their name and number on an answering machine to have their call returned. There was a glitch with the phone and answering machine Monday, but the problem has been resolved. The Chimes application may also be obtained on the Chimes for Charity Facebook page and mailed to P.O. Box 661, Union City, TN 38281.
