HALLOWEEN BUSINESS — Candy was the currency of the businesses in downtown Union City Tuesday evening and business was good. Hundreds of little ghosts, goblins, princesses and more invaded First Street for Main Street-Union City’s Halloween extravaganza. Little farmer Hunter Doughty, 1, came all the way from Martin to visit with princess Carrie Willis, one of several princesses handing out candy at Joann’s dress shop. From 3-5 p.m., three blocks were blocked off as children collected their sweets and treats from participating businesses. With bouncy houses, food vendors and games, the community event served as a great alternative to the traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating or simply the first stop of the night.
