BIRD’S-EYE VIEW — Obion County farmers have been wrapping up their harvests in recent days, including more than 1,500 of acres produced in the county. In addition to the cotton, “there are a few beans and a little corn left in the fields needing to be harvested,” according to Tim Smith, Obion County director of the University of Tennessee Extension Service. The cotton picker, captured from above by a drone on a farm near Kenton, was being driven by Rance Barnes Jr. of Union City. A rainy forecast could hinder some of the area farmers’ harvest plans.
