Nellie Wallace

Nellie Jo Wallace, 81, of Tiptonville passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Center.
Graveside services were to be held at 12:30 p.m. today at Antioch Cemetery, with Mr. Wilford Mobley officiating. Dyersburg Fun-eral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
The family was to receive visitors from 10:30 a.m.-noon today at Tiptonville Church of Christ.
Pallbearers were to be Will McKenzie, Andrew Wallace, Mark McKenzie, Hart McKenzie and Jason Tubbs.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1935, in Tennessee to the late Joe Pitts and the late Nellie Scott Pitts. Nellie was a retired English teacher for Lake County School System, where she worked for 30 years. She had a B.S. in secondary education from UTM and she loved to paint. Nellie was also a member of Tiptonville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Kelley and her husband, Danny, of Paris; three sons, Tony Wallace and Jack William McKenzie II, both of Tiptonville, and Tim McKenzie and his wife, Amy, of Paris; a sister, Bonnie Hayden of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Charles Pitts of Tiptonville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wallace.
