LEARNING EXPEDITION — Union City Middle School’s entire sixth-grade class was fortunate enough to experience the first Learning Expedition at Discovery Park of America on Wednesday. For a flat rate covering the entire school year, the Unlimited Learning Expedition program offered the DPA facilities to the local school systems so teachers could take their classes for extended lessons. UCMS students in Penne Guess’ social studies class, including (from left) Ashlyn Yarbrough, Yahileah Israel, Jamarcus Scott and Tanner Thomas, were tasked with finding one artifact in the Native American gallery at DPA and discovering five facts about that artifact. Union City School System was the only one to sign up for the program.
