BUS, CAR COLLIDE — No one was injured when a Union City School System bus and a car collided at East Main and Ury streets in Union City about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday. The 2012 International bus, driven by Nelson Youngblood, 42, of Union City, was westbound on East Main Street, traveling behind a 2007 Nissan Altima driven by a 17-year-old Union City driver, when Youngblood apparently failed to stop in time to prevent the front of the bus from hitting the rear of the car. The car was westbound on East Main approaching Ury Street and had slowed or stopped to turn onto Ury, according to a Union City Police Department report. Youngblood was charged with following too close. Students on the bus were transferred to another bus which came to the scene and continued on their regular route.
