Doris Puckett

Doris Lanell Puckett, 85, of Union City died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Union City Rehab & Nursing Center with her family by her side.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Taylor Kaszian will honor her great-grandmother with a song.
Burial will follow at Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Steve Puckett Jr., Jamie Andrews, Brad Phelon, Justin Phelon, Ken Lyons, Adam Turnbow and Chuck Moffitt.
She was born March 9, 1932, in Obion County to the late Mack and Pauline Jones of Troy. She married Bollin Puckett Jr. in 1949. He passed away in December 1989.
She was a formerly employed as manager of Electrolux Sales Office in Union City and Paducah, Ky. After retiring, she remained in Paducah until returning to Union City in March 2016. Mrs. Puckett was a Christian and a life-long Baptist. She was a people person and was always interested in helping others. She had many friends at Union City Rehab & Nursing Center and often told her family she considered it to be her home because of the love and care she was shown there.
She is survived by her two sons, Steve Puckett Sr. of Troy and Phillip Puckett and his wife, Betty, of Union City; two sisters, Iris Bradford and her husband, Joe, of Greenville, Ala., and Margaret Gurien of Troy; three grandsons, Steve Puckett Jr. of Marion, Ill., Brad Phelon of Troy and Justin Phelon of Gore Springs, Miss.; her granddaughter, Stephanie Grigsby of Marion; three great-granddaughters, Taylor Kaszian of Marion, Morgan Grigsby of St. Louis and Jersie Puckett of Vienna, Ill.; two great-grandsons, Cullen Ray Phelon of Gore Springs, Miss., and Tucker Phelon of Troy; and several nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Nell” very much.
She was also preceded in death her sister, Rebecca Irene Andrews of Union City; two brothers-in-law, James Andrews of Union City and Gene Gurien of Troy; her grandson, Christopher Boyd Phelon of Union City; her niece, Tammy Howard of Troy and two nephews, Thomas Mack Andrews of Union City and Joe Earl Bradford II of Greenville, Ala.
