Wendell Alexander

Wendell F. Alexander, 82, of Dresden died Friday, July 28, 2017, at his home.
A family memorial service was to be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Max Speight and Judge Tommy Moore were to officiate.
There will be a celebration of life for family and friends at 5 p.m. at the Dresden Elks Lodge.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Alexander was a graduate of Rives High School and worked as a realtor and owner of Wendell Alexander Realty.
Alexander is survived by his wife, Shirley Hawks Alexander of Dresden; one daughter, Lisa Alexander of Dresden; nine grandchildren, Jake (Alyssa) Bynum, William D. Permenter III, Alex (Kate) Bynum, Cody Cunningham, Steven Permenter, Joseph Permenter, Matthew Permenter, Michael Permenter and Winston Permenter; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Nash and Roane Bynum; one sister, Barbara Smith of Martin; and one brother, Marvin (Lullen) Alexander.
Alexander was preceded in death by three stepsons, Dr. William D. (Pam) Permenter Jr., Patrick H. Permenter and Gregory S. Permenter; and his parents, W.A. (Alton) and Margaret Whitehead Alexander.

    I am so sorry to learn of Wendell’s passing. You and your family are in my thoughts. I am coming to Martin Sat. to visit with Anne Meek who will be in town at that time. I will tell her of your loss.
