TWIRLING TORNADOES — Union City High School senior Kennedy Arnold (front) twirled her flag as she practiced this morning with her fellow marching band color guard members in the school cafeteria. The crew practiced indoors this week, rather than outdoors, due to the re-seeding of the band’s practice field. Practices for both the color guard and the band’s percussion section were under way this week ahead of the annual band camp scheduled for the week after next for the Golden Tornadoes’ entire marching musical group. With temperatures in the 90s and heat indexes above 100 this week, the color guard members were thankful to have a reprieve from the heat by holding practice indoors.
