Keith Fisher

Keith Miller Fisher Sr., 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017, at his home in Union City.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1930, in Memphis. Keith was the son of Hick Hess Fisher and Maude Davis Fisher. He married Anita White Fisher on Aug. 5, 1949, in Memphis at Highland Heights United Methodist Church.
The funeral was to be 2 p.m. today, May 22, at First United Methodist Church in Union City. Burial was to follow at Mount Zion United Methodist Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation for friends and family was to be from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service today.
The Rev. Tim Adkins and the Rev. Jim Calhoun were to officiate. Todd Hampton was to deliver the eulogy.
Pallbearers were to be his grandsons, Todd Hampton, Chad Gibbs, Will Fisher, Tim Partin, Justin Johnson, Matt Freeman and Lane Partin.
Honorary pallbearers were to be the Character Builder’s Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church, The Hardee’s Coffee Club, Dr. Bobby Young, Richard Arnold, Dr. Chris Gooch, Noel Vickers and Barry Duncan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Union City First United Methodist Church or Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Keith and his wife of 67 years had four children, Mike and Judy Fisher Hampton of Woodland Mills, Keith Miller Fisher Jr. (Bud) of Springville, Susan Fisher Chennault of Franklin and Mary Beth Fisher Kennon of Springville. They were blessed with eight grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Jennifer Hampton of Martin, Angie and Tim Partin of Woodland Mills, Chad and Sara Gibbs of Franklin, Nikki and Matt Freeman of Chattanooga, Lindsey and Justin Johnson of Huntington, Will Fisher of Spring Hill, Paige Fisher of Union City and Amanda Cate of Springville; and his brother, Ralph Fisher (Peggy) of Memphis.
Some of his biggest blessings were his nine great-grandchildren, Avery Partin, Lane Partin, Annabelle Gibbs, Claire Gibbs, Jaylee Cate, Taylor Cate, Tripp Johnson, Tinley Johnson and Boone Hampton.
Keith was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was active in the Character Builders Class for many years. He taught Sunday School, was a former president of the Civitan Club, coached and managed little league baseball teams, worked with Boy Scouts and was recognized by the Union City Arts and Council as a volunteer for the arts.
For 25 years he worked for Butler Mfg. Co. selling grain bins and buildings. Upon his retirement from Butler, he worked as a salesman for Servall. For the last 16 years, he has managed the Reelfoot Shopping Center in Union City.
Keith Fisher was known for his sense of humor and his contagious smile. He gave many people nicknames and would often share a joke or funny story. He loved his family more than anything and was happiest when surrounded by them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Fisher and Ray Fisher; and his son-in-law, Lucas Kennon.
