STUDENTS OF THE YEAR — They are top students in their schools and now they are the top students for 2017 in the eyes of Kiwanis Club of Union City. Kinlee Ferguson of Obion County Central High School and Matthew Atwill of Union City High School were named Students of the Year during a banquet held at UCHS Tuesday. They received $500 scholarships at the banquet, where 14 other previous Kiwanis Students of the Month received scholarships (see related photo and story, Page 12). They were joined by Kiwanians Joe Ward (left) and Randy Thetford, who received Walter Zeller Fellowship International awards, which were presented to them by Lt. Gov. Division 1A John Fry (not pictured). The Walter Zeller Fellowship is an exclusive award unique to The Eliminate Project. The Walter Zeller Fellowship honors Walter Zeller, who made the first gift of 25 silver dollars to establish the Kiwanis International Foundation.
