Tommy Triplett

Mr. Tommy D. Triplett, 77, of Union City passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mariah Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Waverly.
Interment will follow in Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly and 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the church.
The family requests memorials be made to Mariah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Highway 13 North, Waverly, TN 37185 or Union City First United Methodist Church, 420 East Main St., Union City, TN 38261. Donations may also be sent through the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 25, 1939, in McEwen to J.T. and Lillian Collier Triplett. He was a 1958 graduate of Waverly Central High School. He was a member of Mariah Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Waverly and currently attended Union City First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed loving and spoiling his six grandchildren. He was an airplane pilot and loved flying, fishing, boating, camping, riding motorcycles, photography, gardening and napping.
He is survived by his his wife of 56 years, Carol Ann Wakefield Triplett of Union City; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jeff and Teri Triplett of Madisonville, Ky.; his daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Richard Hicks of McEwen; six grandchildren, Rachel Triplett, Sarah Triplett, Jacob Triplett, Amanda Patey, Abbey Patey and Lillian Patey; his brother and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Wanda Triplett of Torrance, Calif., and Rose Wakefield of Athens, Ala.; his sister and brothers-in-law, Martha and Murray Dye of Montgomery, Ala., and Edwin Wakefield of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
