James Turner

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Living Word Church in Hornbeak, with the Rev. Archie Larry officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ruth Green. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Friends may call at the church 5-9 p.m. today. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Staggs, Tyler Gammons, J.R. Knight, Jerry Rodrigues, Cody Rodrigues and Kenneth Youngblood. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Staggs, Johnny Turner and Bobby Staggs.
He was born June 12, 1935, in Humphreys County, son of the late Obedair Turner and the late Nora (Odom) Turner Brown. He was a construction worker and a member of Living Word Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lou (Staggs) Turner; his son, Randall Turner of Dyersburg; his brother, Doris Turner of Draffenville, Ky.; two grandchildren, Ashton Riley of Hornbeak and Tyler Gammons of Dyersburg; and his great-granddaughter, Reiana Boone of Hornbeak.
He was also preceded in death by his son, James Michael Turner; two brothers, William Clayton Turner and Clarence Eugene Turner; three sisters, Ethel Green, Gladys Flowers and Susie Cravens; and his great-grandson, Jason Riley.
