Lael Sunday School Class held a regularly scheduled monthly meeting at the family life center at Union City First Baptist Church recently. Faye Passmore, who is the class outreach leader, asked for names of the sick and the grieving.
Joyce Stephens, class teacher, led in prayer.
She also gave the devotional, which was based on things the pastor, Dr. Cecil Sewell, had said in one of his sermons titled “Good Advice for Christians.”
• Forget not. Do not forget God;
• Fear not. There are 365 times that “fear not” is in the Bible;
• Faint not. Do not give up praying;
• Fret not. Do not complain or worry.
Pat Cunningham was the hostess and she served strawberry shortcake and fresh strawberries with snack mix and drinks.
Next month the hostess will be Trudie Thornton.
Those attending this summer session included  Mrs. Cunningham, Edna McIntosh, Jean Eaker, Mrs. Stephens, Dorothy Rasberry and Mrs. Passmore.
