Some of the congregational family at Exchange Street Church of Christ gathered on the north lawn for groundbreaking activities recently. The church will be building a Family Life Center. The project has been five years in the making. The new building will include a gym/recreation area, a commercial kitchen, two class/multi-use rooms, a second floor for the junior high and high school youth and two large restrooms with showers. Exchange Street Church of Christ members hope to use the building for disaster relief, should the need arise in the community. Among those celebrating the groundbreaking for the new family life center were pulpit minister Dan Huggins; youth minister Jonathan Watford; the building committee’s coordinator, Wes Collier; and church elders Johnny Bruff, McKinley Johnson, Fred Hancock and Randy Thetford. Ped Foster is the children’s minister.
